Cathal McAteer established the contemporary menswear brand Folk in 2001. The ethos behind the brand was to create a collection that Cathal’s friends would like to wear, clothes that were fun, unrestrictive, understated yet with attention to design & detail.
Cathal has been nominated for two years running for the designer of the year in he Scottish style awards and is also currently designing collections for Folk sister footwear brand Shofolk.
This collection features lots of lovely lightweight organic Japanese cotton twills, Peruvian cotton knits, pima cotton, garment dyed resin coated overcoats and of course Corozo nut buttons. One of our very favorite bits is the double faced cotton elbow patch shirt with vintage mother of pearl buttons.

Best Sellers:
Folk Overcoat. Folk mid-weight, double breasted overcoat in a washed out dark navy blue. This style is constructed from 100% broken twill cotton and garment dyed with a resin wash to give a crisp handfeel.
Folk Chunky Square Cardigan. Folk shawl collar chunky knit ‘Squares’ cardigan in dark navy blue with a multicoloured squares pattern across the shoulders and upper back.

Haversack is the creation of Japanese designer Koji Norihide and was founded in Japan in 1998. Haversack is readily available in Japan, and has a flagship store in Tokyo but is currently only stocked in a handful of places in Europe.

The name Haversack is taken from the bag used by the American army made of linen and wool as a substitute for leather. It was recognised for its strength and durability. The concept of the label is to be a contemporary collection which places great emphasis on detail that always works back to the military themes at its heart.
The main Haversack collection is based on old patterns and blocks of hunting, shooting and military uniforms whilst Haversack General Garments are pieces heavily inspired by French workwear and nautical uniforms of the 30s and 40s.
