The new Autumn/Winter 11 men’s collection by Bench pushes the boundaries of urban streetwear fashion and brings together new trends stamped with the brand’s stand-out personality. Inspired by its music heritage and street culture AW11 introduces three key themes which takes you from day to night with a timeless, directional collection.
Alternative is a collection inspired by tribal and body art, combined with a slight grunge quality to create a darker edge. This directional look uses engineered silhouettes, angular pockets, asymmetric zips and tattoo graphics. High gloss shine fabrics are combined with coated zips, graduating prints and bold typographic text. A dark colour palette of black and grey is highlighted with petrol blue and plum, interspersed with marls.
Underground takes inspiration from the great outdoors with slouchy shapes, heavy washes, aged fabrics and Fair Isle knits. Interspersed with a distinct military influence using utility pockets, waxed fatigue fabrics and reinforced stitching, this range offers a rustic utilitarian look. Khaki tones, mixed with earthy browns and greys are given a modern twist with bold reds, blues and sulphur green.
Electro is a young and energetic theme influenced by dance music and club culture. Bench’s typical clean sporty look is updated with tough, protective silhouettes using high collars and ninja-style necklines. Stripes and colour blocking are key and texture is added with mesh layers. Pop colours, digital distortion and music references influence original graphics, and bold striped knitwear and checked shirting stand out from the collection. Strong hues of bright red, electric blue and neon yellow highlight a landscape of blacks and greys.
