Top urban clothing brand Bench have just released their new Autumn/Winter 11 collection for women and this season the collection is split into three key themes; Tribulation, Imaginarium and Electric Avenue. Each theme has a distinct personality, appealing to a dynamic, young market.
Tribulation is influenced by dark arts, featuring tribal inspirations and a tough yet feminine aesthetic, creating a warrior-chic collection. Decay effects and worn finishes are teamed with encrusted trims for resilient glamour. The palette combines dark slates, blacks and greys, with muted highlights and washed-out marls.
Imaginarium is inspired by a twisted reality and dark imagination, this collection is a fantastical mix of the weird and the wonderful, with a military influence. Using chunky textures and oversized silhouettes with fur trims and cozy linings, this range has an understated luxury. Combining natural pastels and retro mushroom tones with hazy wintry shades, will appeal to comfort seekers and fashionistas alike.
A core Bench jacket range is given new fabric finishes including earl tweed, waxed cotton and pigment garment dyed fabrics. Military styling in the form of multi pockets, high necklines and shoulder epaulet branding are key, whilst detachable scarf, shearling neck and hood linings are a great winter feature. Soft slate and black marl chunky cable knits are used on a variety of shapes including throw-on cardigans, funnel neck and jumper dresses.
With a young, energetic vibe, Electric Avenue is the fun collection of the season. Influenced by the brand’s clubbing culture and brought up to date with a bright colour palette, strong statement slogans and digital inspirations, this dynamic offering will appeal to today’s retro cool youth. Sporty styling and technical fabrics are playfully combined with glossy nylons and clean silhouettes. The bright colour palette, including vibrant orange and rich purple, enhance the monochrome base moving into pepper greens in it’s second phase.
